AStar Warsfan has taken matters into their own hands, creating one of the coolest customLEGOsets inspired byAndorseason 2. In the critically acclaimed series, several new and impressive ships made their debut in both seasons. However, LEGO only ever made two sets.
For some reason, LEGO only made a singleStar Warsset forAndorseason 1. The same was unfortunately true forAndorseason 2 as well. However,@alexwishart13 on Instagramrecently released their owncustom LEGO design forAndorseason 2’s TIE Avenger, the starfighter many collectors would have liked to have seen compared to the one we got:

This new MOC (a LEGO community term for “My Own Creation”) is quite impressive, having the perfect minifigure selection and the inclusion of a speeder bike to mirror theTIE Avenger’s live-action debut inAndorseason 2.As a collector myself, it makes me even more frustrated LEGO never made an official model.
This Custom LEGO TIE Avenger Is Absolutely Perfect
One of Andor Season 2’s Coolest Ships
ForAndorseason 1, the single set released by LEGO was Assault on Ferrix (75338), a smaller set featuring a CorpSec mobile tac-pod, a speeder bike, and minifigures of Cassian Andor, Luthen Rael, and Syril Karn. However, mostStar Warsfans/LEGO collectors will tell you the preferred set would have been Luthen’s Fondor haulcraft.
Similarly,Andorseason 2 motivated LEGO to make a new iteration of their 2016U-Wing (75399), albeit a more compact version with minifigures of Cassian, K-2SO, Dedrra Meero, and an ISB Tactical Agent. However, the TIE Avenger is definitely the stronger choice LEGO for some reason opted not to make. Keeping that in mind, it’s cool to see this custom version of the TIE Avenger and imagine what might have been.
That’s the nice thing about LEGO, though. If you’ve got the time, creativity, and the bricks, you can just do it yourself when official sets don’t exist (or fall short). It’s why I recently purchased a bunch of gold and white pieces online to turn my Imperial Star Destroyer intoGrand Admiral Thrawn’sChimaera.
While noting says LEGO couldn’t revisitAndorin the future, this custom TIE Avenger certainly proves how cool it would have been if it had released while the show was releasing new episodes.
