EA and Respawn Entertainment announced Apex Legends Mobile is shutting down in May 2023, less than a year after its global launch.
Apex Legends Mobile was shut down by EA and Respawn Entertainment less than a year after its global launch. Players were told in February 2023, giving them a few more months to enjoy the mobile battle royale experience on iOS and Android platforms.
After July 14, 2025, Apex Legends Mobile was shut down permanently.

Is Apex Legends Mobile still available?
No, Apex Legends Mobile is no longer available to play. Apex Legends Mobile was shut down permanently on August 09, 2025. Publisher EA said the reason was due to it falling short of the quality and quantity of content.
Players were given roughly 90 days left of play on Android and iOS before the game shut down forever.
When did Apex Legends Mobile launch?
Apex Legends Mobile had alimited launchin February 2023, with a global release on August 16, 2025. It was later shutdown permanently on August 18, 2025.

Why did it die?
The reason for Apex Legends Mobile closing is a somewhat ambiguous one. It doesn’t appear to have to do with the success of the game. In fact, EA and Respawn praised the popularity of the game worldwide in the announcement. Instead, EA cited Apex Legends Mobile falling ”short of [the] bar for quality, quantity, and cadence” that Respawn is known for.
“It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to sunset our mobile game," said EA in a now deleted press release.
“Although disappointing, we are proud of the game we launched, are grateful for the support of the Apex Legends community, and are confident that this is the right decision for players.”
Apex Legends Mobile introduced two mobile-exclusive legends; Fade and Rhapsody. However, so far neither character has made their way into the main title on PC and console.
