How does an extra few weeks to finish your quests sound?
This week was to be the end of Dota 2’s first big content update Crownfall, but as players rushed to earn the last tokens and candy rerolls, Valve announced the event would be extended by a further three weeks.
Feb. 6 is now marked as the end date for Crownfall, giving Dota 2 players another three weeks to earn rewards and complete their Crownfall Act maps before the content goes away. The question on everyone’s minds, however: What will replace it?

Valve’sJan. 15 blog posttitled “Crownfall’s Final Bow” confirms the end date for Crownfall has been pushed back by nearly a month. The extension comes as some players begged for a little longer to complete all the content.
One such playerused their forlorn-looking catin the hopes of convincing the devs to extend the date. Shockingly, it worked. “If what we’re hearing from friends, family, dedicated fans, coworkers, bus drivers, security guards, and even some cats on the internet is true, it turns out a lot of people could actually use more time to finish everything,” Valve said in the announcement.
Valve added that this is the definite, 100%, absolute, for-sure final end date for Crownfall, which hasbeen extended numerous timesover the past year. So, if you’re still yet to finish the last Act or need some more candy for the Candyworks Caravan, don’t waste any more time!
Not everyone was overly pleased at today’s extension. Many players rushed through the past few days in the hopes they’d finish all the missions and quests in time. “I just spent all my candy and rerolls thinking they would be gone instead of waiting for new recipes,“one said, with many saying they were in the same boat.
Ultimately, more time to earn plenty of goodies and finish off each Act in Crownfall is a good thing, especially those who haven’t been able to play over the holiday period.

Crownfall wraps up Feb. 6. As for what comes next, Valve is tight-lipped on the topic. We’re expecting something similar to Crownfall asValve moves away from the old Battle Pass systemin favor of a healthier ecosystem and more robust updates for Dota 2.
What form that takes next is unknown, but Crownfall has been a major success since it arrived last March. From in-client minigames to plenty of cosmetic rewards, Dota 2 players wouldn’t be too upset if Valve stayed the course and released something similar down the track.
