Destiny 2has launched for half the world, with more territories hitting their midnight launch in the coming hours. Alongside the launch of developer Bungie’s sequel to their hit sci-fi looter shooter, the official soundtrack for the game has also been released.

TheDestiny 2soundtrack features over two and a half hours of music across 44 tracks. The music was composed by Bungie andDestinyveterans Michael Salvatore, Skye Lewin, and C Paul Johnson along with Rotem Moav and Pieter Schlosser. The tracks were recorded at various locations including Skywalker Sound. A trailer highlights more about the official soundtrack:

The soundtrack is available on iTunes and Amazon, as well as straight fromBungie’s official store. If purchased through the Bungie Store, fans can also get their hands on an exclusive in-game emblem forDestiny 2. The soundtrack is going for $9.99 on iTunes and the Bungie Store and $8.99 on Amazon. Individual tracks can be purchased as usual from iTunes and Amazon.

For those who want to sample or listen to the entire soundtrack for free, Bungie has posted the soundtrack in its entirety on YouTube:

Fair warning to anyone still trying to stay spoiler-free in these last few hours: the soundtrack does contain track titles that could be considered spoilers.  Players will hear the music in the game as they experienceDestiny 2’s cinematic campaign, which has been highly praised by early reviewers (especially in light of it being a significant improvement overDestiny 1’s lack of coherent story).

Longtime Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell, who famously composed the scores for Bungie’sHalogames and the originalDestinyscore, was not involved in the music forDestiny 2afterhis split from Bungie in 2014. However, Michael Salvatore who did work on theDestiny 2soundtrack was O’Donnell’s partner and co-composer from back in theHalodays, so this soundtrack definitely retains that classic Bungie flavor along with new sounds and themes unique toDestiny 2.

Destiny 2is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on June 20, 2025 for PC.
