The hype of this year’s edition ofThe Internationalhas died down, with it immediately replaced by the impending release of Crownfall Act Four and the release of new Dota 2 hero Kez. Before that, we’ve got a balance patch — and as expected, a few overpowered carries were on top of the nerf list.

Dota 2 Patch 7.37d patch overview: Biggest buffs and nerfs

Fifty-nine Dota 2 heroes received changes in the 7.37d patch on Oct. 1. Not all of them were huge changes, so we’ve sorted the bulk of the updates into major and minor buffs which you can see below.

Ranged Gleipnir-wielding carries bore the brunt of the nerfs. The item, which has been a go-to for carries at TI and in ranked recently, has been heavily adjusted. As for heroes, Mirana and Windranger copped the hardest adjustments of the lot; the former’s Solar Flare facet has had its daytime vision removed and its attack speed and damage decreased, while the latter won’t be running around spamming Focus Fire anymore after its cooldown was increased by as much as 20 seconds in the late game.

Focus Fire also disallows Windranger from attacking during its effect, meaning she’ll be relying on RNG to hit her target if multiple heroes are in the vicinity. A second of duration was also taken away, plus Windrun’s Aghanim’s upgrade won’t keep her cloaked when the ability is purged. We still recommend bringing a Nullifier to a fight against Windranger, but she’ll be much easier to bring down thanks to today’s update.

Also on the chopping block was Ringmaster, who quietly rose to the top ofour tier listthis past month. Less Strength means less HP, and with a dispellable Escape Act and shorter Wheel of Wonder radius, the pesky support won’t be taking over team fights on his own anymore. We’ll have to wait and see whether the nerfs here in Dota 2 Patch 7.37d will be enough to shelve the support for good.
