Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is not even out and is already the most-played fighting game on Steam with a peak of 91k players simultaneously.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has not even launched and is already making a huge success on Steam. Only played by people who bought the Deluxe and Ultimate editions - granting their early access - the newest Dragon Ball fighting game had 91,005 players gaming at the same time, entering the list of 20 games with the most simultaneous players in the first 24 hours.

The standard version will launch on Steam, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X and Series S on Oct. 11. Let’s see how many records the video game will keep breaking.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a fighting video game inspired by the iconic Dragon Ball anime. Being associated with a lot of nostalgia and childhood memories, this game was purchased by many fans who couldn’t wait for the launch. The onlytwo versionsavailable before the launch were the Deluxe ($99.99) and the Ultimate ($109.99) one.

And just like that, with 91,0005 players at the same time, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero entered the top 20 of the games with the most players simultaneously in 24 hours - in 16th place, just under EA SPORTS FC 25 and above Baldur’s Gate 3 - according toSteamdb. Not only does the game enter at full speed, but also has great reviews on Steam.

Yes, it’s true, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero just surpassed Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 as the most-played fight game on Steam. The previous record belonged to Street Fighter 6 - which debuted in June 2023 - and reached70,540 playerssimultaneously. Besides that, this is also the most-played Dragon Ball game, since the last recorded belonged to Dragon Ball FighterZ with44,234 players.

In aninterviewwith Bandai Namco Entertainment (the studio responsible for the game’s development), the producer Jun Furutani assured that they “want players to feel the thrill of intense battles as their favorite character from Dragon Ball. Our goal was to create an experience that is both nostalgic and innovative, capturing the essence of the series while introducing fresh, exciting elements”.
