With its insane cast of characters, impressive visuals, and increased focus on narrative,Far Cry 3has been shaping up to be a very impressive sequel for Ubisoft Montreal’s first-person shooter franchise. Well, that was until the French publisher took the stage during Sony’s E3 2012 press conference and revealed the open-world game would be even bigger with the addition of a four-person co-operative campaign.
TheFar Cryseries already let players approach any given situation from a variety of vantage points with a vast array of weapons and tactics at you disposal. In the past, the decision of whether the tool de jour is a sniper rifle or machete has been left entirely up to you — something that might be a tad different with this new addition. If the brief on-stage demo Ubisoft showed off was any indication, playingFar Cry 3with your friends could considerably change the tone of the game. Just hope that the extended stay on the island won’t drive themtoocrazy.
