Eutoum Shrine, like other Proving Grounds shrines, requires a lot of trial and error. It’s made all the more onerous by having no clear method to beat it when you first enter.
However, fret not. We have covered everything you need to know to give you the best chance in the shrine below. But first, let’s take a look at how to find it.
How to find Eutoum Shrine inTears of the Kingdom
Eutoum Shrine is located in the Hebra Mountains region of Hyrule. This area is pretty chilly, so you’ll want to have some cold-resistant clothes on hand to stop Link from shivering and, more importantly, dying. The shrine is equidistant from two fast travel points that most players should have unlocked. The options are Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower to the east and Rospro Pass Skyview Tower to the south.
If you don’t have them unlocked,check out our guide to unlock all of the towers in the game. Either tower will have you crossing some of Hebra Mountain, hence why warm clothes are necessary. It’s possible to also use boosts to avoid the cold, but since it’s quite a trek, we don’t recommend it. Check out the screenshot above for the exact location of the shrine on the map.
How to complete Eutoum Shrine
As mentioned above, Eutoum Shrine is part of the Proving Grounds series. This means you temporarily lose all of your weapons, armor, and items when you enter. To start, the only equipment options available to Link are a long stick, a regular stick, and a wooden shield to the left of the entrance. It goes without saying that these will not see you through the challenge ahead.
Regardless, collect the two weapons and shield and head into the shrine. You’ll need to defeat a number of constructs within the shrine. Their health is combined into one pool at the top of the screen, so you’re able to see roughly how many you have left to defeat. The shrine exit will only open once the top health bar has reached zero, so if it still has some left, look around the shrine. You must have missed a construct.
There’s no clear method to use for this Proving Grounds shrine, but based on the structure, we think stealth is the way to go. Around the shrine, there are platforms that Link can Ascend to. There are no constructs up top, so this gives you a method of moving around the shrine undetected. To start, Ascend up to the platform closest to the start (pictured above). You’re going to make a beeline for a cache of stronger weapons.
When all else fails, use stealth
Follow the platforms around to the right and head under the laser beams on the wall. Don’t let them touch you, as they will sound an alarm. From here, you need to glide down into the room pictured above. The entrance is covered by three laser beams, but it’s relatively simple to clear those by gliding over them. In here, there’s a whole group of Zonaite weapons. Take them all and the arrows on the floor. Then, immediately Ascend up to the next level before the constructs catch you.
Now, the rest is relatively simple. You need to channel your inner John Rambo to slowly pick off all the constructs from above. You should have enough arrows to take out all of the constructs in the shrine if you mostly hit headshots. However, if you need more, there are arrows around the shrine in wooden barrels that you can break. The Zonaite longsword and sword you picked up from the last room are also pretty handy if you find yourself in a melee situation.
While attacking the constructs from above, all you need to do is be aware of their rocks and arrows. They will constantly send both your way, and they can hit pretty hard. Try to take out constructs when they are on their own so as to avoid being overwhelmed by incoming projectiles.
Once you have killed all of the constructs inside, the exit will open, and you may collect your light of blessing. Just remember to open the chest near the exit first. It contains a sapphire that can be sold for a nice price.
