Legal wrangling in the engineering world is making progressively less sense . In March , Canadian company Mitel strike Facebook with a patent case . Now , The Next Web is reportingthat Facebook is countersuing Mitel over two patents it believe are also being contravene .
So far , so normal . But there ’s a unearthly bend . From The Next internet :
Interestingly , both those patent of invention were acquired by Facebook for $ 550 million in April 2012 , about a calendar month after Mitel file away the initial lawsuit . The vender was Microsoft , but the Redmond software giant had just acquired the patent from AOL in a transaction respect at $ 1 billion for the full portfolio .

So essentially Facebook got sued by Mitel , bid for AOL ’s patents , lost the auction to Microsoft , end up buying a portion of AOL patents from Microsoft , and is now countersuing Mitel alleging the infringement of two of them .
All of which is kind of amusing but ultimately incredibly childish . Also : should n’t there be some variety of rule against doing that form of affair anyway ? Either way , please , please , please make these kinds of suit stop . Thanks . [ The Next Web ]
