The DPC points will be redistributed to the 2nd and 3rd Majors.
The first Dota 2 Major of 2022 stands canceled, Valve has announced in a news blog. New COVID strains and travel restrictions have made it unfeasible for teams to travel to a central location.
After weeks of silence on the location and final dates of the first Major, Valve has announced it is canceling the Major altogether.
As the Winter Tour of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021-2022 season draws to a close, we’ve made the difficult decision tocancel the first Major.
Valve had to take the difficult decision to cancel the Major due to increasing instances of the COVID variant. Various countries have also started imposing travel restrictions that could leave players and staff members stranded in a foreign country.
While hopes were high that we could host an international LAN event, the discovery and spread of new strains of COVID-19 and the resulting increase of travel restrictions has made it unfeasible for all qualified teams to gather for a LAN tournament.

What about the Major DPC points?
The DPC points from the first Major will be redistributed to the second and third Majors. The balance of points between regional and cross-region play remains the same.
Here is how the points will be distributed to the next two Majors:

The impact of this decision is that it renders the ongoing DPC Season 1 essentially void. Teams like Quincy Crew in NA DPC and Team Tickles in EU DPC who have been in exceptional form in DPC Season 1, will now unfortunately receive no DPC Points for their efforts.
Finally, Valve’s statement about the next two Majors is that of evaluation and constant monitoring.
