The fan who are horrified at the “ dark , gamy ” reimagining of the punk sure-enough show Astro Quest include Battlestar Galactica ’s Grace Park … and BSG reinventor Ronald D. Moore , in this clip from last Nox ’s CSI .
Last Nox ’s science - fiction - themed CSI started off feeling more like Galaxy Quest , parody the nonsensical trappings of sixties Star Trek . We even make the strain “ He ’s all in , Jim , ” when actor Jonathan Danson got murder . But then the episode , script by BSG / Deep Space Nine veterans Bradley Thompson and David Weddle , took a veering towards satirizing their own penchant for dark reinventions . And of course , when we met Kate Vernon ( Ellen Tigh ) as a catty media study professor who jazz to quote Derrida , the root to the closed book pop to seem obvious .
This is n’t the first time CSI has visited a conventionality , of course . That was 2007 ’s comic Dying In The Gutters , where a host of comic - book writers were suspect in the murder of gossip - monger Rich Johnson .
