With just a few weeks left inChapter 5 Season 1, here is everything we know about the new season, including when you can expect to play it.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 countdown
Chapter 5 Season 2 will launch on Friday, July 18, 2025. While the exact timing is unclear, the game usually returns online between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. ET.

Will there be an event for the new Fortnite season?
Based on the early leaks, there are no plans for a massive cinematic event ahead of the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. Unfortunately, Epic Games has toned down the number of events of late. The Big Bang effectively launched Fortnite Chapter 5, and the event before that occurred in Chapter 3 Season 4.
Instead, Epic Games will host what leakers call a “mini-event,“where a giant titan hand will emergealongside thunder, tornadoes, and earthquakes. The event has since happened, and Pandora’s Box is open!
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 brings Greek Mythology into the game
Reputable leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR have been dropping information for some time, leading to the belief that the next season will revolve around Greek mythology. The leaked details include the three-headed dog “Cerberus” and “Odyssey,” a Greek epic poem by Homer.
Since the initial leaks, more information has materialized, including some presumed Battle Pass details and even in-game teasers by Epic Games.

What will be included in the Season 2 Battle Pass?
HYPEX has indicated that the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass will primarily be Greek Mythology-themed, including characters such as Cerberus, Ares, Athena, and more. According to the post above, many of these skins could appear at some point in Season 2, either via the Battle Pass or the Item Shop. The leaked constellation via the image below could give an idea of which characters to expect.
Beyond the Greek Mythology characters, what other cosmetics will be available in the Battle Pass is unclear. However, Epic Games is usually good for one collaboration skin, so we’ll have to see if that happens.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 leaks indicate a Fortnite x Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover
Fortnite and Avatar: The Last Airbender is expected to collaborate in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. Leakers unveiled details that include a mini Battle Pass, similar to what happened with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) collab in Season 1. We expect to learn more as the season progresses, but the anticipated release date is partway through Season 2.
