Not your typical game characters

A month-long game jam, JamForLeelah, recently concluded and the 22 participating games are available now. Leelah Alcorn was a transgender teen who had a passion for videogames and an interest in game design. Leelah took her life at the end of last year.

JamForLeelah spreads awareness for LGBTIQ issues and supports various transgender-based charities. Most of the games deal with gender, coming out and what it is like to be transgender; things many of us may never have to think about. The also jam includes avisual novelmade by Destructoid’s very ownLaura Kate Dale. The games and more information are available on the jam’sofficial site.
