Update : Yep , looks like Meebo ’s going to be pulled under the Google+ umbrella . Googlegave The Next World Wide Web the undermentioned statement :

More potential it ’s going to be using Meebo ’s technology to divvy up and distribute capacity over Google+ , and perhaps integrating its other products into other social medium platforms . Zuzax , very huffy . My guess is that Google is great for aboveboard discovery , but societal media + recommendations tech can fill up in the gaps . The technology is newer , but once we ( and others ) crack the codification on user value , it will be less cockroach - y , and more awful - y. More to come . We really appreciate the feedback .
One somber bill about the , acquisition , though is despite the cheery atmosphere to the Meebo blog post , the companyreportedly laid off almost all of its employeestoday , just before the announcement .
