This latest season of Game of Thrones is all about bringing all our dear characters together — you cognize , before the White Walkers drive them apart again with carload of death . One of the most anticipated reunions of the time of year ( if not the serial publication ) also end up being one of its most heartbreaking . And now it ’s been immortalized .
Artist Rayane Kacimi from Algeria has released an illustration call “ That ’s Not You , ” depict the failed reunion between Arya Stark and her direwolf Nymeria from the 2nd episode of season seven , “ Stormborn . ”
The scene claim property as Arya makes her journey back to Winterfell , turn away from her payback quest in the process . She ’s confront by a full develop Nymeria and her pack of savage . We see Arya in a moment of vulnerability , beg Nymeria to return home with her , to make things how they used to be . Only Nymeria ca n’t go back home . She ’s too dissimilar now . It reminds us that , deeply down , Arya ca n’t genuinely go back home either .

The illustration bears some visual similarity to Robert Ball ’s weeklyBeautiful Deathseries , which portrays each instalment ’s biggest , craziest , or most - depressing fatalities . But it ’s overnice to see smaller , non - fatal moments from the series get the beautiful interpretation they too deserve .
Kacimi told me he feel “ the whole aspect had some Princess Mononoke vibration to it , ” which was what part enliven him to create the representative . This is only the second print he ’s ever done ( he made one last week for The Hound ’s “ Burying The retiring ” moment ) , and he plans on making a Game of Thrones example for every installment this season … and possibly into time of year eight .
Game of Thrones returns tonight with “ The Queen ’s Justice . ” you may check out more of Kacimi ’s body of work onFacebook .
