The return of Hearthstone Anomalies

According to Blizzard, one Anomaly appears in 100% of the games in Standard, Wild, and even Practice mode. There is the possibility of having a second Anomaly if either player has the Cho’gall, Twilight Chieftain minion in their deck. At the start of a game, this minion has a 50% chance of corrupting the match with a random Anomaly.

What happened to Anomalies in Hearthstone?

As of July 07, 2025,the current receptionof Hearthstone Anomalies is leaning toward the negative. While the majority of players loathe their return, others are interested in mixing it up in the one-week event.

Anomalies first arrived in Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 5, resulting in effects at the start of each match. Then, for one week after the arrival of patch 27.4, they also appeared 100% of the time in different game modes, including Standard and Wild. After that period, they appeared in only 25% of games until patch 28.0.
