There are several ways to earn some free The Great Dark Beyond card packs ahead of the new Hearthstone expansion.
Hearthstone players can look forward to some community events ahead of the new The Great Dark Beyond expansion. These events feature The Great Dark Beyond theorycrafting streams, a pre-release Tavern Brawl, and more.
The Great Dark Beyond theorycrafting event
This Hearthstone theorycrafting event kicks off on Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. PDT for players in North America (NA), Latin America (LATAM), plus Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Meanwhile, for folks in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, the livestreams start on Oct. 25 at 2 a.m. PDT.
In terms of what to expect, the invited participants must include 10 The Great Dark Beyond cards in their Hearthstone decks. This can be in the form of 10 unique cards, five duplicates, or anything in between. Additionally, according to Blizzard, casters Simon “Sottle” Welch, Alexander “Raven” Baguley, Neil “L0rinda” Bond, and Raisa “Edelweiss” Cabrera are set to commentate on various streams on Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT.

Hearthstone Twitch drops return for The Great Dark Beyond
Viewers can earn some free Twitch drops while watching their favorite Twitch streamers duke it out against others during this theorycrafting event as well. These Hearthstone Twitch drops, which are two The Great Dark Beyond packs in total, are available between Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. PDT and Oct. 25 at 9 a.m. PDT. Some streamers even have The Great Dark Beyond Mega Bundle code giveaways.

Community Days event features free Hearthstone card packs
Speaking of freebies, players can look forward to Hearthstone’s Community Day event, which runs from Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. PDT to Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. PDT. During this event, players can collect up to 10 card packs by simply watching Hearthstone streams. The requirement? Two hours per Twitch drop.
Hearthstone Pre-Release Tavern Brawl explained
Also ahead of The Great Dark Beyond’s release date, eager players can check out the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl. This particular Tavern Brawl happens between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. It lets players open up their The Great Dark Beyond card packs and create some decks.
“After that, each entry will cost 2 Tavern Tickets, 300 Gold, or 400 Runestones,“Blizzard explained. “On each run, lock in a deck and play until you get either 6 wins or 3 losses and earn more new cards based on how well you do!”
