One of the most requested features, Hyper Training, seems almost certain to be coming to Pokémon GO.

The evidence is stacking up, and it now seems very likely that we will soon get Hyper Training in Pokémon GO. This is a really exciting new feature that could make a huge difference to your Pokémon GO collections, potentially allowing you to turn some near misses into hundos or shundos.

At the moment, all we know about Hyper Training comes from things that have appeared in the games files. There has not yet been official announcement about the feature or when it could release. However, with so many different things in the files related to Hyper Training it now seems a near certainty that this feature is on the way.

We’ve gathered everything we know about Hyper Training in Pokémon GO below, and will update it as more things appear in the files or if there is an official announcement from Niantic.

Pokémon GO is getting Hyper Training, how will it work?

Just like in the mainline games, you’ll need aBottle Capin order to Hyper Train a Pokémon. It seems that just like theLucky Trinketit seems that this item can expire. That means it could be given as a reward through some sort of Pass, perhaps atGO Fest 2025this summer.

From how things appear in the files(so, subject to change) it seems that there will be quite a few steps to train a Pokémon. The Pokémon will need to be your buddy, and there will be multiple tasks you need to complete.

There will be a time limit on these, and there will also be a limit on how much a Pokémon can improve. So, you can’t take a very poor Pokémon all the way to a hundo!

However, you can seemingly improve a specific stat or all three stats at once. That means any Pokémon that is a 14/14/14 or higher can become a hundo once Hyper Training comes to Pokémon GO. Unfortunately, this will not apply to Shadow Pokémon.

How excited should I be?

Very excited! Hyper Training is a great feature and is the latest of several really exciting new additions to the game. Every Trainer has had an amazing Pokémon, perhaps a shiny, that is just a couple of points off being a hundo or maybe a 98. For most trainers, that is the minimum for them to invest Stardust and Candy in for Raids.

However, this feature is not just exciting for those of you who want to flex hundos or power up Legendary Pokémon for Raids. This will also be excellent for those of you who grind PvP. Now, if a Pokémon doesn’t quite have optimal IVs for PvP, you’re able to adjust this. The fact you can select the specific stat to boost is great for PvP players.

At the moment, it seems Pokémon GO will allow you to apply Hyper Training to Mythical Pokémon, likeKeldeoorVictini. This would be a really amazing feature. Trainers can only get limited numbers of Mythical Pokémon (1 or 2 goes usually) and if you get rubbish IV’s, you’re stuck. The ability to improve these Mythical Pokémon would be another amazing use of this feature, should this be allowed.
