Following the long-awaited reveal ofBattlefield 6, its release date may have accidentally been disclosed, and it could make for an incredibly busy month in October. TheBattlefield 6reveal trailerintroduced its campaign’s basic premise – the United States coming under siege by a private military corporation – and promised a grand multiplayer reveal on July 31.

Following the relative disaster ofBattlefield 2042,Battlefield Studios' upcoming attempt is a key moment for the long-running franchise, potentially saving it from being shelved.Battlefield 6leakshave been promising, and the series' fans are cautiously optimistic, but if its leaked release date turns out to be correct, the game could be going toe-to-toe with a lot of competition.

Battlefield 6 May Be Released On October 10

EA Accidentally Spilled The Beans

At the very end ofBattlefield 6’s first trailer, there’s a disclaimer letting consumers know that the game will include in-game purchases, aka microtransactions. A URL is provided, promising more details, but it appears theEAweb page has been taken down. According toEurogamer,a section on pre-ordering theBattlefield 6Standard Edition noted that the “promotional offer” for purchasing the game early expires on August 09, 2025.

This presumably meansBattlefield 6is internally scheduled for release on October 10, though publisher Electronic Arts hasn’t yet publicly commented on its launch plans. All that’s been officially announced is the multiplayer reveal on July 31, and an open beta mentioned by the franchise’s social media accounts, which similarly does not have a set date yet.

Everything we know about the new Call Of Duty game, BO7.

ARC Raiders Is Already Scheduled For October 30

Battlefield Devs Vs. Ex-Battlefield Devs

If October 10 does turn out to beBattlefield 6’s release date, thenit will launch just weeks ahead ofARC Raiderson October 30.ARC Raiders' release date was revealedat Summer Game Fest this year, building on the hype established by itssecond technical testearlier in the year. The extraction shooter was originally revealed all the way back in 2021 as a co-op shooter, and has gained quite a lot of attention in the lead-up to its launch.

ARC Raidershas become the most anticipated extraction shooter of the year afterMarathon’s plagiarism controversy, which delayed its release potentially into next year.

ARC Raidersis developed by Embark Studios, the team behind 2023’sThe Finals. The studio is, interestingly, the home to many ex-Battlefielddevelopers, and now its upcoming game could potentially be competing againstBF6for the attention of shooter fans. 20 days could give both games plenty of room to breathe, but with a focus on online multiplayer, they could both become significant time investments.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Might Release In October Too

Activision Hasn’t Announced A Date Yet

Then there’s the specter that looms over all shooter releases:Call of Duty. Much likeBattlefield 6,Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s release date has not yet been set. For the last 20 years, though,CoDhas dropped ahead of the holiday season without fail. Traditionally, the first half of November has beenCoD’s time, buta handful of recent games have moved up on the calendar to October.

Black Ops 4,Modern Warfare(2019),Modern Warfare 2(2022), andBlack Ops 6were all released in late October.Black Ops 7could follow suit, and would make for an exceptionally packed month of shooters. Very little ofBlack Ops 7has been shown off, though, so at this point, November actually feels more likely. That could work toBattlefield 6’s benefit, which may already have stiff competition if its October release date becomes a reality.
