Osgood Perkins has made massive waves in the last two years with his horror moviesLonglegsandThe Monkey, and he will soon releaseKeeper, which just got a new trailer.Longlegsholds an 86% Rotten Tomatoes critics' score whileThe Monkeyis at 77%;The Monkeyalso became a streaming hitupon its release on Hulu.
Meanwhile,Keeperis slated for a theatrical release on Jul 26, 2025.KeeperstarsShe-HulkandOrphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany andMurder in a Small Town’s Rossif Sutherland. The new movie follows a couple who retreat to a secluded cabin, which turns out to be viciously haunted, prompting a confrontation and fight for survival.

Keeper’s initial teaserfrom several weeks ago was especially mysterious, butthe new full trailer hints more at the movie’s plot and core themes. The video has a unique format, essentially repeating its spiral into haunted house terrors twice, starting with the same blissfully romantic scene both times to illustrate both “Liz” (Maslany) and “Malcom’s” (Sutherland) perspectives.
Both main characters get a chance to narrate and ask the same questions: “Why does it always have to end? Is there any way to keep love alive? Do I even know this man/woman?“The titleKeeperrefers to the saying that someone is “a keeper,“a romantic partner who is great and worth going the distance with.

This movie looks as though it will be questioning whether one can ever really know a partner, reflected in the history of the cabin’s residents. Check out the new trailer forKeeperbelow:
What This Means For Keeper
One would assume that Perkins is gearing up for another hit horror release. Maslany is returning to collaborate with the director again after starring inThe Monkey, which only came out earlier this year. WhilePerkins' movies haven’t quite reached the same heights of critical acclaim asSinnersorWeapons, you never know when a project like this could completely overturn the horror genre.
ButPerkins and his collaborators now have decent word-of-mouth followingThe Monkey’s streaming release, and have kicked off a good marketing campaign that could makeKeeperan even bigger release. Now that this trailer has been fully released, it may be shown ahead ofWeaponsand other similar movies in theaters, attracting genre fans.

Our Take On Keeper’s Trailer
Keeper’s especially distinct trailer has me intrigued about the structure of this movie, which looks as though it may favor aGlass Onion-style form of nonlinear storytelling to emphasize the two points of view. The trailer on its own proves that this is the perfect way to tell a story focusing on navigating a romantic relationship, with some horror tropes to elevate the emotional stakes.
It’s fascinating that this movie is coming out so soon afterTogether, which also explores themes of conflict in a relationship, and I look forward to seeing howKeepermay be compared to real-life married couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie’s project. But mostly, this movie will probably direct even more attention to Oz Perkins, who is swiftly becoming a staple horror filmmaker in Hollywood.
