Homelander’s death seems likely inThe Boysseason 5, but one character’s supe power tease might give him an even worse fate than doom.Antony Starr’s Homelanderwas almost never redeemable inThe Boys. Although his tragic backstory revelation fromThe Boysseason 4 makes him a little more pitiable, there is almost nothing he can do in the Prime Video show’s final season to make up for his bad deeds. Owing to this, it seems likely that the series will end with him dying and getting what he deserves.
However, time and again, viewers have argued that, instead of death, Homelander should get another fate. Since death would be a quick and merciful way for the character to go, he deserves something even worse. Only time will tellhow Homelander’s story will endinThe Boysseason 5. But after seeing the scale of one supe’s abilities, it is hard not to believe that Homelander will eventually meet a fate specifically tailored to break him in ways that death never could.

Homelander’s Death May Seem Inevitable, But He Deserves A Worse Fate
Many Believe That Homelander Must Survive But Live With A Major Punishment
A lot of viewers seemingly agree that Homelander’s arc inThe Boysshould end with his death. However, others believe that after everything he has done, death would be an easy way out. Therefore, instead of being killed,he should be stripped of all his powers inThe Boysseason 5. Homelander has had his powers all his life, and he has always been led to believe that he is the most powerful person to exist in the history of humanity. The god-like treatment fueled his ego and fed his delusions of extreme superiority.
There was a time when Homelander cared about his reputation and tried to portray himself as a morally righteous supe. However, after many lauded him for publicly killing a man inThe Boysseason 3’s endingmoments, he realized that he does not have to hide behind the mask of heroism. He understood that no matter what he did, he would be appreciated by his loyal followers. This realization was liberating for the character because it gave him the freedom to do whatever he wanted.

Without his supe abilities, though, Homelander would be just another regular human. With no powers, he would not be able to strike the fear that once forced everyone, including the strongest supes, to bow down in his presence. Homelander rarely thinks twice before brutally killing someone and acting out his violent impulses, but without his powers,he would be forced to live with the fear of retaliation from those he has wronged and even the ones who once revered him as a god.
One Character Might Be Able To Remove Homelander’s Compound V
Marie’s Abilities Might Allow Her To Beat Homelander
Towards the final moments ofThe Boysseason 3, Queen Maeve sacrificed herself to stop Soldier Boy. While at it, she exposed herself to the supe’s radiation-infused energy blasts. Surprisingly,Maeve survived the energy blasts but ended up losing her supe abilitiesafter the incident.Kimiko, too, lost her powers after being exposed to Soldier Boy’s radiation blasts, before she decided to regain her abilities by taking new doses of Compound V.
With her blood-controlling powers, Marie might be able to separate the Compound V from Homelander’s blood.
These instances suggest that it is possible for a supe to lose their powers without dying altogether. IfSoldier Boy returns inThe Boys' season 5, he could be the one to bring Homelander down by taking away his powers. However, afterGen V, it is hard not to see how Marie, too, could do something similar.Gen Vhinted that both Marie and Neuman had the ability to see Compound V flowing through one’s bloodstream. With her blood-controlling powers, Marie might be able to separate the Compound V from Homelander’s blood.
Gen Vseason 2’s trailersuggests that Marie will grow even stronger beforeThe Boysseason 5.
The true scale of Marie’s abilities is yet to be explored inThe Boys. However, she grows increasingly strong inGen Vseason 1 and even manages to give one supe a heart attack without even touching them. If she reaches her true potential, she might be able to neutralize Homelander by either extracting the V from his bloodstream or somehow deactivating it inThe Boysseason 5.
The Boys
The Boys is a gritty and subversive take on the superhero genre, focusing on a group of vigilantes who confront powerful superheroes abusing their abilities, exploring themes of corruption and moral ambiguity in a world where heroes are not always what they seem.
