Clock Tower 3wasn’t exactly the greatest game in the world, but it did one thing perfectly, one thing that has kept it stuck in my mind for years — cutscenes. To many, the art of the cutscene is worth moresneering than praise, but I love a good video now and then, and the sequences inClock Tower 3were among the most harrowing you could find. The series has always excelled at creating disturbing, genuinely menacing enemies to stalk and terrify the player, and the introductory scenes for each ofClock Tower 3‘s villains did an amazing job of setting them up to be very frightening customers....

Get Super Punch Out!! Starting today until August 4thon Club Nintendo, you’ll be able to pick upAura-Aura Climber(100 Coins),Star Fox 64(200 Coins),Donkey Kong ’94(100 Coins), andSuper Punch Out!!(150). While I can’t wholly recommendAura-Aura Climber, I think the other three are absolute classics that are definite “must plays” in their own way. Super Punch Out!!in particular is my favorite in the franchise, and one I tend to speedrun every year — in fact, I was serendipitously playing it last week....

This game gets better every week I can’t contain my excitement forDeception IV: Another Princess. While everything shown off so far has been great, including the first playable character with direct physical attacks, these new settings are the best feature yet. The franchise has usually taken place in dusty old castles and other fantasy locations, butAnother Princesswill add a school, hospital, and playground to the mix. It’s probably the craziest twist on the formula since the series first debuted in 1996....

For a limited time Pokemon Golost me with EX raids. I loved the idea of going to raids openly with friends and participating whenever I felt like it. But the forced mechanic of requiring players to earn “EX passes” (heralded by Mewtwo) before they even had the option to face a tough enemy turned me off entirely. That was roughly a year ago, but now things are changing. Temporarily, at least....
