Fans of Square Enix’s SQ album series are probably already enjoying the retro-flavoredSQ Chipswhich was released last month, but the next installment in the line of remix albums is already near completion.Cafe SQfollows in the footsteps ofChill SQ, which was, as the name suggests, a chillout album.  It was one of my favorite albums in the series, but it was admittedly too short with just seven tracks totaling around 35 minutes of music.Cafe SQaims to remedy that with 15 new arrangements, and if the recently unveiled track listing is any indication, this should be one of the best SQ albums to date.

VGMdbhas the entire track list translated, and it will be treating fans to “Delightful Spekkio” fromChrono Trigger, “Matoya’s Cave” from the originalFinal Fantasy, and one of my favorite Uematsu compositions, “Troian Beaty” fromFinal Fantasy IVamong many others.  There’s a lot ofFinal Fantasyrepresented as usual, but other games includingXenogearsandDewprismappear as well.  Hit up theofficialCafe SQwebsitefor streaming samples of several tracks and get ready for the album’s November 23 release date.  It’s reasonably priced at only 2,100 Yen.
