Tencent to establish partnered league in SEA

The biggest change to PUBG Mobile esports in 2023 is to SEA. Instead of a regional championship, Tencent is introducing the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL).

Tencent had first teased the idea of a franchised league last year but is now finally bringing it about. While the PMPL is also happening in the region, the top teams from SEA will advance to the PMSL.

The PMSL will be a semi-franchised league in the sense that there will be some partnered teams with guaranteed slots. Two seasons of the PMSL are set to take place. The PMSL Spring will happen in March while the fall season will take place in August.

This will be one of the first franchised leagues in the PUBG Mobile esports ecosystem and could become a model for other regions to follow soon.
