Two new weapons are being added tonight
We’ve got someSplatoonupdate information to share! Two new weapons are being added to the game tonight, and an actual balance patch is coming on June 30. The two weapons tonight are theCarbon Roller and Custom Dual Squelcher.The Carbon Roller comes with Burst Bombs and the Inkzooka, while the Custom Dual Squelcher comes with a Squid Beakon and Killer Wail. Personally, I avoid all rollers and Squelchers, so I will continue rocking the Inkbrush and Blasters.

Anyway, the most powerful and overused abilities like Ninja Squid and Ink Resistance are getting nerfed, and so is the way-too-powerful Kraken ability. Now, firing at a Kraken will knock it back some, though the amount is yet to be seen. There’s also some Splatfest details, focusing on the matchmaking fixes they are implemented to make it a smoother experience for everyone. I fully expect myself and the rest of Team Dog toeasilycome in first.
Let’s look at these in some detail:
Special Weapon Adjustments:
Inkstrike: The amount of area covered will be more consistent regardless of where it lands
Kraken: The amount of knockback is increased when taking damage from an opponent while using Kraken
Ability Adjustments:
Ninja Squid: Swim speed will be lowered when using this ability
Stealth Jump: The amount of time it takes to Super Jump will be longer when using this ability
Ink Resistance Up: The effects with respect to the amount of damage and speed when moving through enemy ink will be adjusted
Closing thoughts:I’m glad Nintendo decided to patch the game, and hopefully it will keep an eye on this stuff going forward. These abilities being nerfed definitely need it, and I hope it makes people think twice about picking the “best” gear.
