Bandai Namco have confirmed that Tekken 8 has sold over 2 million copies worldwide since its launch on January 26, on par with SF6.
Tekken 8 sales have surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide in just one month, according to a social media post by the developer themselves.
The latest entry in the Tekken franchise launched worldwide on January 26, following a demo made available to PS5, XBOX and PC users in December.
Tekken 8 on par with Street Fighter 6 in sales
In terms of copies sold in the first month, Tekken 8 sales are on par with Street Fighter 6 that also sold two million in the first month of release. Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 also managed to sell one million copies in its first five days.
Interestingly Mortal Kombat, another legacy FGC title, took six months to reach three million copies sold after releasing in September 2023. Mortal Kombat 1 has dwindled from 11,000 concurrent players for the release ofKombat Pack 1in November 2023, to about 1,250 in February 2024.

Reviews for Tekken 8on Steamare “Very Positive” and the community at large has been vocal about how impressed they are about how much content is in the game.

Tekken 8 sales might continue to grow, especially with theTekken 8 Road Mapwas shared on February 20, which outlined the imminent arrival of aTekken Shopfeaturing aTekken UNIQLO collaborationboth in-game and IRL.
Bandai Namco also released plans for theTekken World Tourwhich kicks of in April 2024.Eddy Gordo, the first of fourTekken 8 DLC charactersscheduled for Season 1, will also be added before April.
We’re curious to see how Tekken 8 sales are going in 3 months, but for now it’s an incredibly impressive start.
