Whats coming to Pokémon GO in August 2025?
August 2025 looks set to be great start to the new year in Pokémon GO. We have the return of Necrozma, the incredibly exciting Max Finale event as well as our final Ultra Unlock event as well.
So, what should you be looking out for in Pokémon GO in August 2025?
Pokémon GO August 2025 events
August 2025 will see a wide array of Pokémon GO events. Here are the dates for your calendars this month:
Get ready for Eternatus to arrive in Pokémon GO.

August 2025 brings a huge amount of exciting Pokémon GO events. We’ve got the GO Fest Max Finale that debuts Eternatus, Rookiedee Community Day, the final Ultra Unlock event and the exciting Dark Skies event too.
There is also a Take Over, that will refresh the rotations for Giovanni and the Team Rocket Leaders and Grunts.
Finally, there is a Mega Raid Day, a Hatch Day and a Fossil Research day to get stuck into!
August 2025 Max Battles
August 2025 gives us moreMax Battles. These will run from all month long. The following Pokémon will be in Max Battles:

This month will also see the continuation ofMax Monday’s, a weekly event with a featured Dynamax Pokémon.

Pokémon GO August 2025 Raids
Five Star Raids
August 2025 is a great month in Pokémon GO, with both Lugia and Ho-Oh returning. This is a great chance to get some extra candy for your shadow forms, if needed.
In addition, we are getting Necrozma into the normal rotation. This could allow you to fuse with Solgaleo or Lunala who were in Raids in July if you have extra fusion energy left over.
Mega Raids
August 2025 Mega Raids in Pokémon GO bring some interesting options, including Ampharos and Slowbro which haven’t been seen for a while.
Additionally, the strong Dragon-type Raid Attacker Mega Salamence returns at the end of the month.
Shadow Raids
Pokémon GO Shadow Raids in August 2025 will see Shadow Regirock back in Raids.
Other highlights this month
As always, there will be a range of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours in August 2025. This includes a 2x Transfer Candy event on August 26, a great chance to get rid of some extra Pokémon after the Dark Skies and Max Finale events.
